New york fashion week 2012
19th Mar 2012
Although we haven’t even said hello to our summer wardrobes yet, we're already plotting our winter wardrobe thanks to the fashion feast that is New York Fashion Week. Here are our highlights:
Designers such as Alexander Wang and Thakoon are moving away from the effortless aesthetic towards more pulled together looks that combine vintage glamour with modern finishes.

The catwalks at NYFW are also blooming with a modern take on oriental. Tribune Standard and lead the trend with models sporting geisha girl inspired hair and make-up, decadent prints and obi belts with modern silhouettes.
Behnaz Sarafpour showed how metallic can be dressed up or down at New York Fashion Week. We love the contrast of the luxe metallic pleated skirt against the casual jumper.
We’ve spotted the military trend across the catwalks at NYFW, from Victoria Beckham’s collection to Kevork Kiledjian’s. Sharp silhouettes and slick wet look effects were teamed together in Kiledjian’s show to create a slick collection.
